“Madrone Studios allowed us to showcase our HERO3 camera in a unique and exciting way,” said Creative Director Brad Schmidt at GoPro. “The team was able to capture the inspiration and capabilities of our product by using impressive projection mapping, totally immersing our guests in our brand.”
GoPro (the world’s fastest growing consumer video technology company) approached Madrone with a clear goal in mind; throw as series of events to generate excitement and media coverage around the launch of the GoPro Hero3 camera.
Madrone worked closely with GoPro to custom produce a three-day event series, emphasizing high-definition video and original GoPro branded content, displayed using the highest-quality video production and display equipment on the market. GoPro’s impeccable taste in video production inspired our creative team to utilize venue-wide projector-mapping in order to provide attendees with a truly immersive action experience.
The Hero3 press launch event, hosted at the Bently Reserve, provided an opportunity to communicate the inspiration and capabilities of Hero3 through multiple video and projection locations, product demo areas, accompanied by unique insights from GoPro’s squad of athletes and affiliates. For press who could not attend the events, madrone provided a live video edit featuring GoPro founder Nick Woodman’s vision.
The event series culminated in a press Q&A and street party attended by the press, as well as GoPro staff and VIP’s. Outside, Madrone provided projection domes and tents to house bars and catering stations. GoPro’s branded racing cars lined the street opposite food trucks and LED-lit lounge areas. Guests moved inside through an interactive gobo branded walkway to enjoy an inspiring presentation by the marketing team followed by DJ and VJ sets which ran late into the night.
